Blog Tour: The Jesus Scandals by David Instone-Brewer

I have always found apologetics fascinating. Apologetics is the systematic defense of Christianity. We could use more people versed in apologetics to counter the naysayers and the people who would argue against the existence of God. This week, I’ve been lucky enough to participate in the blog tour for the The Jesus Scandals in which author, David Instone-Brewer combats the criticism against Jesus and his life.

About the author:

David Instone-Brewer studied at the South Wales Baptist College, University College Cardiff, and Cambridge University. He is the Senior Research Fellow in Rabbinics and the New Testament at Tyndale House, Cambridge. He is a Baptist minister. www.BibleScandals.com

About the book:

Did you know that Jesus caused quite a scandal in his time? He consorted with thieves and prostitutes, he was an illegitimate bachelor, and he  brought children into the church. His “misdeeds” are still talked about today and have even been misconstrued by various sources. Take a tour of his purported scandals and find out the truth behind them.

My thoughts:

This was definitely an interesting book to read! I found out the real story about Mary Madgalene. There were also facts about Jewish law, crucifixions, and history that I had never thought about before. I learned a lot from this book and I believe it has definitely strengthened my faith. I recommend that all Christians–and even non-believers–read The Jesus Scandals and learn truth, rather than lies.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book gratis from Kregel Publications in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
