Making History Come Alive with Costumes

Next year, we are planning to start the trivium or classical education. For those who don’t know what that means, there are three parts of the trivium: grammar, logic, and rhetoric. Each section will go through four periods of history: Ancients, Middle Ages, Renaissance and Reformation, and Modern Times. Sounds fun, right? There are lots of different activities that you can do for each section and I thought it would be fun to wear costumes while teaching history lessons.

But costumes can be expensive, so I turned to Wholesale Halloween Costumes. They have a wide selection of popular costumes and many are new for 2012. I searched through all categories that would cover the ancients and finally decided on a Roman Empress Adult Costume. This sleeveless costume features:

  • Sheath style in white fabric.
  • Gold trim around the hem and neckline.
  • Red velveteen drape that fastens on the hip.

The stretchy fabric of my new costume makes it very comfortable. The material makes it easy to put the costume on in a jiffy. This momma doesn’t need a costume that is a struggle to put on! The costume itself is almost a perfect fit; It’s good to know that sizing is accurate. My only complaint is that the side slits are a bit high for my taste, but I can always wear a pair of leggings if I am uncomfortable.

Many of the popular costumes for 2012 also have matching accessories that can be purchased separately. My new costume has a number of jewelry pieces such as earrings, necklaces, and bracelets that would complement it well. When searching for the perfect essemble, you will find a wide variety of popular costumes and accessories to choose from. If you are looking for costumes this Halloween or to illustrate a lesson like me, Wholesale Halloween Costumes is a great resource for families on a budget.

Disclosure: I received a costume in exchange for my honest review. No other compensation was provided. All opinions are my own.
