About the Book

Virginia “Ginny” Marshall is on the cusp of living the American dream: a recording contract, a handsome boyfriend, and fame–everything a girl could ask for. But something feels off, so she heads to the small town of Glacier Bay, Alaska. There, she is given a box of old letters that actually help her to make sense of her life.

My Thoughts

To me, Ginny is Everyman–or Everywoman, in this case. We’ve all felt her heart one time or another in our lives. We make difficult decisions every day. I like that Ginny is so relatable. Not only does the town help her figure out her life; but it also helps her heal in ways she didn’t expect. I loved this part of the story; Tricia touched on her emotions very well.

The letters in the book were a wonderful parallel between the modern world and a place less civilized, though no less magical. I am glad that Ocieanna included them because they put us right inside the characters’ minds. I felt like writing a letter or two myself.
