J is for Jump

Another week in the ABCs of Homeschooling, hosted by Dawn.

Is there a habit or skill you wished your child had never learned? For us, it is jumping. For the longest time, W could not jump at all. She would try with every fiber of her being; but would not even move an inch. You could see the determination on her little face. I felt so bad for her; it was sad to see her try and try, not getting anywhere.

I can’t quite remember how old she was when she finally learned to jump. One day she couldn’t and the next day she was jumping. On everything. She will jump on the sofa all day long if you let her.

Jump

So is it fair to teach W to not jump when she worked so hard to learn how?
