Many years ago, my grandfather gave my grandmother a ring. It was gold band, with a stone for each of them and one for each of their children. My grandmother gave it back. The ring was so awful that each of his daughters refused it, with the exception of my mother. I actually had the ring in my possession for awhile and even wore it. It was bulky and unusual, but the sentiment behind it was so lovely that I looked past its appearance.

I was so inspired by the story of the ring that I wanted my own family piece. I have been searching for “the one” for years. I finally came across a shop where each beautiful piece is made with love. Melody designed my own mother’s necklace for me. I wanted something that would combine my feelings as a mother and my faith. The Square Washer necklace can be customized with names on all four sides. Melody customized my pendant with birthstones and a cross. She put it on a 18″ 3+1 chain which was the perfect length. I feel as though I am now keeping my children close to my heart. I love that the necklace is in silver; it’s my favorite metal for jewelry–so subtle. This necklace is the perfect expression of who I am as a mother. I shall treasure it always.
