I’ve been seeing a lot of t-shirt tutorials around the internet. There are shirts with ruffles, shirts with flowers, even shirts turned into headbands. I decided to try my hand at my own upcyling project. I now share the results with you in the Falling Leaves T-Shirt Tutorial.
I bought a long-sleeved shirt on clearance a few months back when it was still cold. I think W may have worn it twice. Although I used a child’s shirt for this upcycling project, you can use a youth or an adult shirt for the same results.
The first thing you want to do is shorten the sleeves.

I cut short enough to make a simple cap sleeve.
I decided not to hem the sleeve, but instead used a decorative stitch.

Out of the discarded sleeves, I cut a few leaf shapes.
As stitched on the leaves, I layered one over the other.
When I finished covering the collar, I stitched a few leaves randomly onto the bodice of the shirt.
There you have it! A quick and easy project that you can complete in less than an hour.
