Ever since I had a chocolate and peanut butter smoothie at our local health shop, I’ve really been craving them. I was racking my brain how I could make a healthier version at home. I finally broke down and bought a carton of chocolate almond milk. I figured I could add some peanut butter along with spinach and/or kale. Unfortunately, the kids discovered the chocolately goodness I was trying to hide. After they nearly depleted our banana supply, I saved a couple for the freezer so I could make them a chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie. Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
Smoothie are one of the easiest things to make if you have a blender. All you need is some fruit or greens and some type of liquid.
Before I froze the bananas, I broke them into 2-3 pieces. That way, they are easier to break down in the blender.
Although I used natural peanut butter, you are free to use any type of peanut butter or nut butter you like.
When you put the almond milk in, you can also add vanilla extract for additional flavor.
The children loved this, of course. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them drink a smoothie as fast as they did this one. Who could blame them? It has all their favorites. Make sure to check out all the other recipes with vanilla in the linky below.
