Somedays, I find it impossible to be able to use my own phone. If you have young children, you know what I mean. My kids are constantly grabbing my phone to take pictures (quite good ones, actually), listen to music, or play games. I always like to make sure there are educational options available on my phone for them.As far as apps go, the children both like fun games with animation and sound. Recently, I downloaded the Catch a Match app from the iTunes Store. Catch a Match is an matching game for kids of all ages. There are three levels of gameplay:
- Easy-12 cards
- Medium-20 cards
- Hard-30 cards
Catch a Match comes with a set of adorable dog cards pre-installed. You can also opt to purchase other card sets:
- Alphabet & Numbers
- Football & Baseball (Coming Soon)
- World Flags & US Presidents (Coming Soon)
With the various levels and different card sets available, game play can be fully customized for your child. You can even turn of the sounds if you like. I don’t know who would want to, though; the dog cards bark when you make a match: Check out a preview here:
Both of my children loved playing Catch a Match. C was thrilled to know that there is an Alphabet and Numbers set available; we will be purchasing that add-on very soon. He was quick to make all the matches, then move onto the next level. He still needed a lot of convincing, however, to give the phone to his sister. W played well, with her brother standing over her shoulder, of course. The gameplay itself was intuitive; it wasn’t very difficult for little hands to maneuver the board. I’m sure it will provide hours of fun for the kids!
