During the summer, it’s sometimes hard to find outdoor activities that won’t make you melt in the sun. We have access for a pool, but the kids only like to float on a raft. There’s not much activity in that! Therefore, we try to save our outdoor activities for early morning. Of course, lately we’ve been also trying to beat the rain as well.
The other morning, we decided to make our own playground. We had recently received a bundle of imaginative sidewalk chalk supplies from Chalk City. Chalk City sells stencils and drawing tools in order to create your own cities, roads, and obstacle courses. Our Chalk City pack included:
- Road Maker-designed to hold two pieces of chalk in order to make your own roads and streets.
- Road Sign Stencils-includes a stop sign, detour sign, and straight ahead sign.
- Obstacle Course Stencils-includes jumping jack, hop on both/left/right feet, and spin left/right.
- 20 pieces of chalk
The first thing we did with our toys was to start building new roads. And boy did we build them! I think they would have shown up better on blacktop.

Chalk City sets can be found on at ChalkCity.com, Amazon.com, or at select local toy stores. If you can’t wait to shop for your very own ChalkCity set, they have generously offered one to one lucky reader of Let’s Go on a Picnic! Please enter your information on the Rafflecopter form below. This giveaway is open to US residents ages 18 and up. It will run from 12:01am on August 1 to 11:59pm on August 15. Upon conclusion of the giveaway, the winner will have 48 hours to confirm the prize. Facebook is not involved in this giveaway.
Disclosure: I received product in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I think my kids would love the Road Maker best. They both love riding their bikes, but can’t really go far. This would give them something new to do while riding. Thanks!
They would like the Obstacle Course Stencil
